The English name of chipboard is Particle Board (PB). This wood is also known as Okal.
History of formation and development of PARTICLE BOARD
OKAL board is a relatively new wood line. Accordingly, this wood line originates from Germany.
It is known that in 1932, this type of board was invented at the Bremen factory - Germany, invented by Himmelheber. These boards are made from wood chips, sawdust, shavings and are held together by a special glue.
The main manufacturing component of an Okal sheet is natural wood chips ground directly from the branches or trunks of eucalyptus, acacia or rubber trees.
PARTICLE BOARD production process:
As shared, OKAL board is milled directly from natural wood. The branches, or small stems, are fed into the machine to be crushed into small pieces.
Next, the wood chips will be dried and mixed with glue. When the ratio of glue to wood reaches a certain ratio, they will be put into the mold, a specialized press will do the job of pressing this mixture into boards.
Okal planks after being pressed can be shipped and used directly.
However, the surface of the Okal series is not smooth. So usually the boards after being pressed will be kept and continue to go through the gluing process. Commonly used coating surfaces are Acrylic, Venner, Laminate. Particularly with Melamine surface when coated on Okal wood core will create MFC product line.

Normally, PARTICLE BOARD includes the following components:

Wood: accounted for about 80%;

Adhesive Urea Formaldehyde (UF): About 9 – 10%;

Water: About 7 – 10%;

Paraffin, hardener: About 0.5%;

Melamine: Helps increase the moisture resistance of the board;

Gypsum, cement: Helps prevent fire during use.
In which, wood is mainly planted forest wood such as eucalyptus, rubber, acacia. Or it can be scraps such as corn husks, sawdust, shavings.
In addition to the main ingredient is wood, some plants containing Lignin and Cellulose are also used. Examples include flax, straw, hemp or bagasse.
